Where did "Peanut Pam" come from?
Some might ask why we called Pam "Peanut Pam"? Was she nuts? A little. Did she like peanuts? A lot - especially at Dodger games. She was known as Peanut Pam for passing out peanuts at Lake Cachuma for the annual fishing derby awards ceremony. She packaged up peanuts to pass out during the derby one year and it just took. People were nuts about it! A few bags turned into 10, then 20, then 100's. She passed them out with a huge smile to fellow anglers and enjoyed every moment. She loved kids and would involve them in the peanut packing process and also handing them out. With each bag of of peanuts came the special love and care that Pam put into them. Her love was contagious.

Pamela Ann LoGuercio was born in Glendale, CA May 16, 1960 by Rosalie and Don Harvey. She spent most of her childhood and young adulthood in La Crescenta, CA on Honolulu Ave. Rosalie and Don raised their only child Pam with much love and would constantly spend time camping and with family. Pam attended Crescenta Valley High School and graduated in 1978 where she met many of her current friends. Living on Honolulu Ave as well was a young man named Steven Peter LoGuercio. Steve was quickly drawn to the attractive, smart and always smiling Pam through his sister Lisa. With some persistence from Pam (believe it or not), Steve and Pam started dating. They loved to go camping, fishing, shooting and anything outdoors with their friends and family. As they went on more and more adventures together they started to fall in love. Steve's proposal was actually centered around a "shooting excursion" and Pam agreed to marry Steve. They decided to spend the rest of their lives together and wed at the Church of the Lighted Window in La Canada on August 2, 1981. Soon after their marriage, they purchased their first home in Sunland, CA were they gave birth and raised two boys Danny and Donald. Pam enjoyed the outdoors and flowers so much she started working for Armstrong Garden Centers. She then found a company and boss she loved so much she spent 25 years working for and eventually retired from - Greg Massimino of Emerald Isle Tropical Plants. Seeking a better life for their newly formed family, Steve took a new job in Thousand Oaks, CA and they began looking for homes in Ventura County. Pam was looking for a new house and found the perfect home - a modest sized house with a huge front and back yard to make her own garden oasis of flowers and plants. Steve, Pam, Danny and Donald all moved to Camarillo, CA in 1996 to start a new chapter. Raising two boys was no easy task but Pam always made an effort to plan camping with her boys and Steve. After much persuasion, she convinced her parents Don and Rosalie to join them in Camarillo a few streets down. She loved spending time with her parents whether it was shopping at Big Lots or lunching at the local restaurants. Pam continued to share her love for the outdoors with her boys and made plenty of trips to the beach with family and friends, camping and fishing in the Sierras, desert trips to Quartsite and many more destinations. Her favorite by far was Lake Cachuma which was introduced to her by their life long friends The Loves. She earned the nick name "Peanut Pam" from passing out peanuts at the annual fishing derby awards ceremony. She also won 2nd place in 2010 where she was featured on the front page with her prized fish but wore a smile that was much bigger than the actual fish. She was always planning the next trip before the current one ended. Pam was always planning the next party getting everyone on board with a little coaxing. She often offered to create floral arrangements for nieces, nephews, friends and many others for events such as weddings and baby showers. These were no ordinary floral arrangements. She would spend weeks preparing, sourcing, planning and making sure every detail was perfect. Her arrangements were extraordinary and glimmered with love she put into them for her family and friends. Around 2006 she was diagnosed with advanced stage 4 breast cancer. She kicked into her party planning mode. Instead of planning the next party, she was planning her next treatment or surgery. She was absolutely determined to fight her cancer and not let control her life. Even during or in-between treatments/surgeries she continued on with the things she loved - camping, family events, etc. She did not let her condition attract sympathy and she continued to laugh and love. She persevered after years and pushed the cancer into remission. With Pam's rejuvenated perspective and energy, she focused on spending every spare moment enjoying the things she loved and surrounded herself with loved ones. Trips to Cayucos with the girls, lunches and brunches, camping trips to new destinations with Steve and even just day trips to the beach to walk the dog. Her new number one priority became her grandbabies as they were born. It all started with Danny and Amanda's daughter Natalie where she dropped everything to join the family to welcome her into the world. She was overjoyed and cried tears of love. From there, Hannah, Taylor and Laruen continued to fuel her life forward and she enjoyed every moment she got with them. Donald and Sara's daughter Aurora was born and further fueled her love of life and love for grandbabies. Then double trouble happened - Danny and Amanda's twin boys Andrew and Jacob. She loved them as much if not more than her own boys. As her grandbabies entered the world, cancer had reappeared but she refused to let it reduce her time with them. She would make every moment count spending time with the grandbabies at the park, her home playing with toy dolls, teaching them how to make flower arrangements or even with great grandma for tea time. Even during her second round of cancer treatments she would make flights out to visit her son Don, Sara and Aurora in Scottsdale, AZ. She also made a bucket list trip to New York to visit Niagara Falls and her cousin Jenny. She was determined to squeeze as much time out of her life as she could doing things she loved like visiting with family, friends and her grandbabies. Stories, laughs and love filled her last moments. She closed her eyes and peacefully with her true love and husband Steve holding her hand.
